I wrote Better Off Gone to serve as an introduction to my musical writing style and an homage to the piano rock artists that I have loved since middle school. It was the first time I'd ever taken on a project this big, I could not have done it without my incredible band and family.

The album explores themes of youthful inexperience, growth, and what really matters when people leave your life. I wrote the songs over the course of my sophomore year, and started rehearsals with my band the summer after. It was recorded over a 9-day session at Cue Recording Studios in Northern Virginia in August of 2024. Shortly after recording ended on the album, I went to study abroad in London, which is where all the album art was created.

 

This album marked a huge milestone in my life, and I am so grateful for the experience I had while making it.
